The latter is almost undeniably true, and very much applies to technology. Calling that "everything is political" and dismissing it as such is nothing more than a thought-terminating cliche.
I think they are writing this to have a basis to exclude AfD members from the club. But I also wonder: Would Trump supporter be allowed to be a member?
